Vision and Mission

EMSA aims for a Europe that prospers in the field of Medical Science and where students can engage actively in advancing healthcare through scientific research. Furthermore, we aim to create a student platform which encompasses many key research principles and practical skills that are essential for every future healthcare professional, whilst raising appreciation of Medical Science.

Objectives

Provide a strong base for students for their professional scientific career by offering various workshops and scientific projects;
Raise appreciation of medical science in society through promotional activities;
Promote communication and exchange of best practices amongst European medical professionals as well as students;
Empower medical students to read and publish scientific articles, by enhancing their theoretical and practical skills through education and training;
Collaborate with relevant partners in the implementation of objectives related to medical science.

Focus Areas

Open Access

We aim to focus on Open Access by advocating for the fact that knowledge is targeted at any person or stakeholder interested and access should thus not be limited to certain groups of people. Medical Science Pillar aims to work with external partners wherever appropriate, to advocate for a Europe that has the freedom of research via maintaining an environment, in which information is accessible.

Science Literacy

We aim to improve science literacy by advocating for the inclusion of research skills in the medical curricula and supporting the quality and quantity of science classes in medical schools. Medical Science Pillar advocates to create an environment for free scientific discussions and to stand up against mis- and disinformation.
