Egypt, Miṣr, officially the Arab Republic of Egypt, is a transcontinental country spanning the northeast corner of Africa and southwest corner of Asia

Egypt is a big country with lots of people and though we may not be able to show you all of it or introduce you to everyone, we sure are going to give it our best shot!

Throughout your time here, we will squeeze in what we can to make sure you cross off as many things on your bucket list as possible!

Starting locally, this is after all a summer school program hosted by SCMSA in the lovely city of Ismailia, “The City of Beauty and Enchantment”.Ismailia is considered to be among the most charming cities in Egypt with a large number of gardens, its clean well organized streets and neighborhoods, and its distinguished European style that made it a wonderful experiece. A free tour around the city’s monuments and historical places is bound to give you all sorts of nostalgic feels.

Next on the list is Ismailia’s cousin, the beautiful city of Portsaid. Only an hour away lies a plethora of colorful culture and cosmopolitan heritage just waiting for you to explore. Almost everything comes with a seaside view and a whiff of fresh air guaranteed  to pull you out of the rut you’ve been stuck in for however long.

Ensuing is an inexorable trip to beloved Cairo. Cairo’s an ancient city that also happens to be a modern metropolis. Cairo is famous for its own history, preserved in the fabulous medieval Islamic city and Coptic sites in Old Cairo. It’s one of the biggest cities in the Middle East and has the traffic and noise issues to prove it. But as long as you’re not looking for solitude, Cairo—the City of the Thousand Minarets—is a splendid place to explore Egyptian history and culture.

It’s important to remember that it is still and despite everything, August. The long awaited summer of 2015. In addition, what’s summer with a little R&R and a good dose of vitamin “sea”. It is that very reason why 2 separate trips are planned to have enjoy the luxuries the mighty Red Sea has to offer. Kicking back with a cold drink and great company with your toes in the warm sand of Sharm El Sheikh and Ain El Sokhna will make you wish you never have to leave. The Sinai Peninsula is a remote desert mountain range. The rocky mountains are parted from the deep-blue sea by a flat desert strip. This combination of desert and sea is an incredible sight and makes you believe you are on a different planet. You’ll be able to soak in the sun and head home with a glow to your skin that proves it!

Do you like Greek Mythology? Site of Pharos lighthouse, one of the Wonders of the World, and of Anthony and Cleopatra’s tempestuous romance.  Alexandria was founded around a small Ancient Egyptian town c. 331 BC by Alexander the Great. It became an important center of the Hellenistic civilization and remained the capital of Hellenistic and Roman & Byzantine Egypt for almost 1000 years. The Pearl of the Mediterranean has an ambiance more in keeping with its neighbors to the north than with those in the Middle East. Today, Alexandria offers fascinating insights into its proud Greek past, as well as an interesting  vision into modern civilization with lots and lots to offer. Among our program is a 2 day trip to this lovely city to explore its wonders.

We hope that was enough to get you excited about your stay, we know we are! Egypt is the kind of place you’ll never be through exploring. Something new, or old, will always be popping up somewhere everyday forcing you to come back for more frequent visits.

We can’t wait to have you here so we speak for the Egyptian  population  when we say “Ahlan wa Sahlan”, Arabic for welcome J
