It is a cheerful day today for EMSA as after a rigorous selection process it has been now confirmed that the new EMSA Permanent Officer will be starting his term at the end of January 2015. Athanasios Vaiopoulos – the selected candidate – is a medical student from Athens, Greece who is passionate about public health and policies.
Mr Vaiopoulos has been an active member of HelMSIC, Hellenic Medical Students’ International Committee, since 2010. He has been the HelMSIC President 2012/14, the EMSA National Coordinator for Greece 2011/14 representing seven FMOs and a member of the EMSA Advisory Board 2013/14. All those years he had the chance to work with strong teams of medical students into empowering HelMSIC and EMSA in Greece. As Permanent Officer Mr Vaiopoulos will be based in Brussels, Belgium and will be taking care of EMSA’s Secretariat as well as support the activities at the Standing Committee of European Doctors.
