Spring assembly

The Spring Assembly is held around March or April each year. The meeting is attended by around 200 participants across Europe. Each year, the event takes place with a different theme.  The meeting generally has 4 working days including plenaries and excluding arrival and departure days, at least two days dedicated to pillar sessions, small working groups and trainings. The plenary agenda contains:

  • Elections of the EMSA Executive Board
  • Elections of the hosts of EMSA European Meetings for the following two years.
  • Annual Financial Report
  • Changes to the Internal Rules and/or Statutes
  • Adoption of Policy Papers

Most recent Spring Assembly was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1-6 April 2017. The theme of the event was Stigmatization.

Autumn assembly

Autumn Assembly is held around September each year and is the largest meeting of the association. The meeting is attended by around 250 participants across Europe. Each year, the event takes place with a different theme.  The meeting generally has 4 working days including plenaries and excluding arrival and departure days, at least two days dedicated to pillar sessions, small working groups and trainings. The plenary agenda contains:

  • Elections of the hosts of the EMSA European Meetings for the following two years
  • Elections of the EMSA Officials Board
  • Elections of the vacant positions of the EMSA Executive Board
  • Approval of the EMSA European Board Annual Reports
  • Adoption of the EMSA budget for the following calendar year.
  • Mid-term Financial Report
  • Changes to the Internal Rules and/or Statutes

Most recent autumn Assembly was held in Budapest, Hungary in 2-7 April 2017. The theme of the event was Antimicrobial resistance.

European week of ethics

European Week of Ethics (EWE) is a three-to-five day event of plenaries, small working groups and other activities dedicated to the Medical Ethics and Human Rights pillar. The event is organized with a different theme each year.

The director of the Medical Ethics and Human Rights pillar, supported by the EEB and the host organisers are responsible for the organisation of the event.

Most recent European Week of Ethics was held in Kaunas, Lithuania in 2-7 April 2017. The theme of the event was Reproductive Medicine.

Trainıng centre of excellence

TCE is an event that allows volunteers to develop themselves both as trainers and participants. The whole event consists of two parts:

Training New Trainers (TNT) and Training For Enthusiasts.

Training New Trainers is an annual event organised by the Trainings and Events Officer with the support of the EMSA European Board.

The aim is to equip and empower more people as soft skills trainers and members of the EMSA Trainers Network.

Training for Enthusiasts follows immediately after the TNT and is an opportunity for the new trainers to practice their newly acquired knowledge as they deliver sessions on various soft skills.
