European Integration & Culture Director 2017-2018
European Health Policy Director 2017-2018
1. please tell us about your work ın emsa:
My role is to contribute to the cultural growth and to the international collaboration between young European citizens and future doctors. Building a common background and a more open-minded society is the key to a brighter future for us, and not only.
As the European Health Policy Director (EHPD) I am responsible for the Health Policy Pillar together with my assistants. We are working on topics that are related to the the EU health framework and agenda – for instance eHealth, big data and the migration of health care professionals. One of our main goals this term is to actively involve our members in EMSA policy making and thus empower them to become future leaders in health care.
2. what is your favourite moment in emsa ?
It was during my very first Twinning Project in Romania. Due to a series of unfortunate events, we found ourself on a train late at night in the middle of Transilvania with nothing around us but darkness. Although we were tired, freezing, wet from the rain and the whole situation was a bit surreal (also thanks to a loud yet funny group of drunk guys from the Netherlands), our wonder twins managed to cheer us up and made it one of the most remarkable moments of my (not-only-EMSA) life.
My favorite moment in EMSA so far is the Autumn Assembly 2016 in Pristina. It was where my personal EMSA journey began – the start of a journey that resulted in being part of this amazing European Board. I am very happy that some of the people I met at the assembly are my closest friends now, being part of many inspiring and valuable moments for me.
3. what do you dream to do in future ?
Visit all the countries in the world!
One dream of mine is to write a book, that inspires people to come to action and lead a meaningful life. I would like to be a traveling author having readings and sharing thoughts with people along the way.
4. do you have a motto, ıf yes, what ıs ıt ?
Do what makes you happy.
Get things done.
5. What is the definition of emsa blue spirit to you ?
The “Blue Spirit” for me is a mixture of feelings and emotions that is hard to describe. I think is the feeling to be at home wherever you are and whoever you have around. The “Blue Spirit” is something you feel inside but exist only thanks to the people that share it.
The EMSA Blue Spirit is the unifying force of EMSA that I think everyone eventually experiences. The particular moments can largerly differ in character and intensity – however, the underlying feeling of being part of something that is bigger than oneself is always present.
6. describe emsa in just three words (Health, europe, together is not allowed):
Sharing, Tolerance, Future.
Empowerment, integration, friendship.
7. now some fun questions. where would you go in a time machine ?
Nowhere else: I think that growing up in the generation that contributed to the world with “Dragostea Din Tei” is something that can’t be topped.
Probably to the future. Since I was always fascinated by astronomy I really want to see our progress in exploring space.
8. final question: What is the dumbest word you have ever invented?
Pillow Session (ideal after a tiring plenary at GAs)
I really can’t think of one…
do you want to get the know the board better?
